This page explains what personal data is collected when you visit georgeergemlidze.com, sign up for the newsletter, or buy and use the EYETURATE plug-in, and what happens to that data.
1. Who is responsible
Giorgi Ergemlidze, individual entrepreneur, Tbilisi, Georgia ("we", "us"). For anything about your data, write to support@georgeergemlidze.com.
2. Visiting this website
- Hosting. The site runs on a server we rent from DigitalOcean, in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. When you open a page, the server receives your IP address, the page you asked for and the details your browser sends with every request, such as its type and language, and uses them to answer. Its log keeps the time, the page, the browser's name and the site that linked to you, for up to 30 days. Your IP address is not written to the log.
- Statistics. We count how often each page is opened, from the server's log. No script runs in your browser for this, no cookies are used, and the counts do not identify you.
- Spotify player. The player on the home page is loaded from Spotify only if you press play. Spotify then receives your IP address and browser details and may set cookies of its own.
- Videos. A video on a plug-in's page is loaded from YouTube only if you press play. YouTube, a Google service, then receives your IP address and browser details and may set cookies of its own.
- The shop. The Plugins, EYETURATE and Support pages load the store's script from Moonbase, which fetches prices from the store. If you sign in or put something in the cart, it keeps your sign-in and your cart in your browser so they are still there on the next page.
- Cookies. This site sets no cookies of its own and has no advertising or tracking that follows you to other sites.
- Download counter. When you download Rice Cake Delay, we add one to a count for Windows or macOS. Nothing about you is stored with it. To stop misuse, the server remembers for one minute how many downloads an IP address has started; it keeps this in memory only and writes it nowhere.
- Links. Links to Spotify, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Bandcamp and other services take you to those services, where their own policies apply.
We rely on our legitimate interest in running a working, secure website.
3. Newsletter
If you sign up, your email address is stored with MailerLite, the service we use to send the newsletter. MailerLite also records when and from which IP address you signed up and confirmed, and whether a newsletter was opened or a link in it clicked. You are asked to confirm your address by email before you are added.
We use your address only to send news about music and plug-ins, on the basis of your consent. Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link, and you can also write to us to be removed.
When you download a plug-in, the download page lets you leave your address only to be told when a new plug-in is released. That is optional: "Download without email" gives you the same file. The address is stored, confirmed and removed in the same way as for the newsletter, kept on a list of its own, and used for that one purpose.
4. Buying EYETURATE
Sales are handled by Moonbase (Moonbase AS, Norway, or Moonbase LLC, United States, whichever is named on your order). Moonbase sells you the license as merchant of record and takes the payment. To buy, you give Moonbase your name, email address, country, where tax rules need it your address, and your payment details.
We receive your name, email address, country and what you ordered. We never receive your card number or other payment details. We use this data to deliver your license, to give you support and to keep the records that tax law requires, on the basis of our contract with you and our legal obligations. Moonbase's own privacy policy explains how it handles data.
5. Activating and using EYETURATE
A trial or a license needs an account in our store, which Moonbase runs for us: an email address and a password.
When you start a trial, when you activate EYETURATE on a computer, and about once a day after that when you use it, the plug-in contacts the licensing service. It sends your license, the name of that computer, an identifier calculated from the computer's hardware, the plug-in's version and the name of the operating system. Like any connection over the internet, this also shows the service your IP address. All of it is used to check the license and to count activations.
The license is kept in a file on your computer, in your Windows user profile. It contains your name and email address, so that the plug-in can show whom it is licensed to. A computer activated offline does not contact the service at all.
The plug-in does not send your audio, your projects, or information about how you use it.
6. Writing to us
If you email us, we keep your message and address for as long as it takes to deal with your request. Our mailbox is provided by Namecheap. Answers to our newsletters go to a mailbox provided by Google.
7. Who receives your data
Only the services named above, each for its own task: DigitalOcean (the server the site runs on), Namecheap and Google (email), MailerLite (newsletter), Moonbase (sales and licensing) and Spotify and YouTube (the music player and the videos, if you press play). We do not sell personal data and do not share it for advertising.
These services may process data outside your country, including in Georgia, the European Union, Norway and the United States. Where the law requires safeguards for such transfers, we rely on the ones these providers offer, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
8. How long data is kept
- Newsletter and plug-in news: until you unsubscribe.
- Orders and invoices: for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- Accounts, licenses and activations: for as long as you have the account or license.
- Emails to us: until your request is dealt with.
- Server logs: up to 30 days. They hold no IP addresses.
9. Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to limit how it is used, or to give it to you in a form you can take elsewhere. You can object to its use, and you can withdraw a consent you have given at any time. Write to support@georgeergemlidze.com and we will answer as quickly as we can, within the time the law allows.
You can also complain to a data protection authority: in Georgia, the Personal Data Protection Service; if you live in the European Union, the EEA or the United Kingdom, the authority of your own country.
10. Children
This site and our plug-ins are not aimed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
11. Changes
When this policy changes, the new version is published on this page with a new date at the top.
