Installing
Download the installer for your system from the plug-in's page and run it. When it has finished, open your DAW. Most hosts find a new plug-in when they start; if yours does not, see the next section.
- Windows shows "Windows protected your PC". The Rice Cake Delay installer for Windows is not code-signed yet, so Windows warns about it. Choose More info, then Run anyway.
- Where the plug-in goes. VST3 plug-ins live in
C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3on Windows and in/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3on macOS. Audio Units live in/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components. - The manual. Rice Cake Delay user manual (PDF, 5 MB).
The plug-in does not appear in my DAW
- Ableton Live: Settings → Plug-Ins. Switch on "Use VST3 Plug-In System Folders" and press Rescan.
- FL Studio: Options → Manage plugins → Find installed plugins.
- REAPER: Options → Preferences → Plug-ins → VST → Re-scan.
- Cubase: Studio → VST Plug-in Manager, then the refresh button.
- Logic Pro: Logic uses the Audio Unit. Quit and reopen Logic so it checks new plug-ins; if it still does not appear, look in Settings → Plug-in Manager.
Check as well that the plug-in matches your host: every plug-in here is 64-bit, and Logic Pro needs the Audio Unit, which only the macOS installer contains.
Buying, the trial and activation (EYETURATE)
- Where to find it. Everything about the license is behind one button at the top right of the plug-in's window. It reads ACTIVATE until the computer is activated, TRIAL with the days left during a trial, and LICENSE after that.
- Trial. Install EYETURATE, open it in your DAW and choose Start trial. Your browser opens so you can sign in or make a free account. You then have every feature for 14 days.
- Buying. Press Buy on the EYETURATE page. Payment goes through Moonbase. Your license appears in your account and you get a receipt by email.
- Activating. In the plug-in choose Activate. Your browser opens; sign in and confirm. The plug-in picks the license up by itself. You do not need to reinstall after a trial.
- Three computers. One license can be active on three computers at a time. To move to a fourth, choose Deactivate this computer on one you no longer use, or remove it in your account.
- Passing a license on. A license is for one person. If you want to pass yours on to someone else for good, write to us and we will move it to their account.
- If the licensing service ever closes. Your license does not depend on it lasting for ever. If it is shut down for good, we will give you a way to keep using the version you bought without it.
- Without internet. An activated plug-in checks its license about once a day. It keeps working for a week without a connection; after that it passes sound through unchanged until it has been online once. A computer that is never online can be activated offline.
- The plug-in says ACTIVATE again. Open its license card; it says why. Most often the computer was removed in your account, has been offline for more than a week, or had a main part replaced, which makes it a new computer to the license.
- Forgot your password? Choose Forgot password and follow the email.
- Have a voucher? Redeem it here.
Activating a computer that is not online
- In the plug-in on the offline computer choose Activate offline and save the small device file it offers.
- Carry that file to a computer that is online, open the activation page, sign in and upload the file.
- Download the license file you get back, carry it to the offline computer, and in the plug-in choose Activate offline and then Load license file.
An offline activation cannot be released from the plug-in. Write to us if you need that place back.
Removing a plug-in
On Windows, look for it under Settings → Apps → Installed apps. If it is not listed there, delete its .vst3 from the folder named above. On macOS, delete it from the plug-in folders named above. Your projects are not changed; a project that used the plug-in will report it as missing.
Removing EYETURATE does not give the computer's place back to your license. If you will not use it on that computer again, choose Deactivate this computer in the plug-in first, or remove the computer in your account.
